UNIQUE ANKARA AND MODERN STYLES FOR CHURCH

Sunday is around the corner, precisely a day away and like any other day we ponder on what to wear. Some people think they don’t have to put so much thought and effort into their Sunday ensemble, for one I think they are wrong. Just like every other day, Sunday is as important therefore if you put a lot of thought to what you wear to the office, shop or where ever then you must also put as much energy into how you should look to church.

This week we’ve opted to showcase some unique pieces for your Sunday staple:

1. Pinafore Dress

This unique piece worn by Charity Baaitse is a black and white Peter Pan collar pinafore cap sleeved knee length dress with a belt detail from the same fabric. Paired with a black bag and red patent shoe, charity knocks this look off. Perfect stylish and modest enough for church.

2. Loose Fit

Another unique look, well put together by @heelavenue, she assembles a milk white V neck off shoulder long sleeve blouse with a white floor length culottes and huge statement wooden neck piece. Perfect for Sunday because of its fresh, chic and easy appeal.

3. Master piece

A well assembled look, @lovelifepearls pairs a lovely cream and black calve length print dress with a white long sleeve button down shirt, a lovely velvet bow tie and black pumps. She completes this master piece with gold accessories and a blue suede purse.  The perfect Sunday look.

4. 2 Piece Ensemble

What I love about this look would be the band detailing, Ankara styles are certainly much more creative nowadays. This diva tucks a black turtle neck long sleeve top into a high waist ankle length Ankara pant with lovely band and zip detailing. She styles it up with a black platform pump, gold chain neck piece and a head tie from the same fabric as the pants. She throws on a black long strap petite bag, branding this a perfect look for church.

5. Ankara Twist

This unique Ankara look has a bit of a twist that makes it a must have. This lovely diva rocks a sleeveless Ankara styled calve length jumpsuit. What makes this look perfect is the floor length train details that start from the waist downward. This Ankara style is unique and modest and it’s a Sunday best must have.

6. Retro and Modern Blend

There is nothing as awesome as a perfect blend, @stylepantry’s Folake Huntoon pairs a unique white modern cape style blazer with an orange retro bootleg high waist pant/trouser and a deep blue tank top. Perfect for a unique approach to your Sunday staple.

Last week and the week before we had modern looks for our church outfit idea, this week we bringing you the Ankara edition… Ankara as we know is versatile, it’s the No 1 go to fabric for any and every occasion.

Below are a series of styles that are decent and moderate enough to work to church.

Off-shoulder

@_tinky styles a wax print off shoulder knee length flared dress with a crystal brooch, gold jewelries and silver heels which goes in sync with the creamish white taffeta fabric up top. This look is subtle and stylish, perfect for Sunday service.

Mix print Iro and Buba

Ronke fella stuns in this simple tradition/modern outfit. She rocks two star wax print of different colors, the yellow star print she uses for her off shoulder longs leeve buba (blouse) while the blue star print is used for the iro (wrapper). She complements her attire with an ankara wax print bag, gold chain necklace, dark shade sunglasses and a cream slip on.

Umbrella Flare

This attire takes the form of an umbrella, this diva’s style is a crisscross flap sleeve flared dress which looks quite like an umbrella. This outfit is paired with a black leather bag and a black with gold stud ankle strap heel.

Folake works a lovely sparkly orange and black batik pants with a brown belt, cream chiffon shirt, orange brown leather clutch and black sandal heel. She brightens her look with yellow colored nail polish.

Yomi’s attire is a way to mix different Ankara print with similar shades, here she rocks a purple elbow sleeved Ankara with another multiple purple shade high waist Ankara ankle length flared skirt. She completes her look with a purple peep toe heel and a blue hue bejewelled purse.

Yomi Shabi’s look here is simple and beautiful, she rocks a multiple hue high waist floor length yoke skirt  which she pairs with a sheer lace blouse with a white singlet, shoulder length earring and a yellow bag with multiple colors as the handle.
